Eye see U! I see all the organizations and businesses that claim to want to help communities but silently are quiet when we talk about Sexual Assault. Rape is a nasty word in today's society, perhaps because of Weinstein and Bill Cosby adding fuel to the fire with their public cases of rape. Society hears about the crimes of women and children being violently raped but nobody wants to give it much attention because it didn't happen to them. I have reached out to various organizations even the Rochester City Mayor Lovely Warren, she responded with an email that Tracy Miller would be getting in contact with me. I haven't heard anything back from the city yet but I have faith that they will hopefully see why it is so critical to talk about sexual assault awareness.

Spoke with a woman at RESTORE today that stated they had folks on the campuses to speak about rape prevention. They seemed pretty upbeat to collaborate and send someone out to give out literature at my first workshop in September.

I feel ostracized in this fight for sexual assault awareness, like folks see me in the distant waving this white flag and they go by racing trying to get where they are going with a side glance. I feel at this point like giving up because I have no money, used my last money to get this started and I feel like that I am fighting to keep folks alive and well mentally and nobody cares. I am sure my depression is trying to fight it's way back in but I always prevail by going for a swim and sitting in the whirlpool to get my thoughts together. I reached out to former Rochester Mayor Duffy and the Rochester Women's council, Robin Wilt and numerous other folks trying to get them on board. Rochester is not my home and I think that is where the problem lies, I am not a Rochester native and I feel like they help their own. I really want to make the best of this workshop experience and collaborate with organizations that are truly serious about assisting people like myself. I'm not going to give up but I am exhausted and no donations flying in yeah I feel a bit down.

I ran into Mike Brooks at the Deltasonic car wash and explained to him what I was doing. He gave me his card and invited me to send him an invitation perhaps some of the kids he deals may come and find it worth while. I reached out to the YWCA and the United Way of Rochester still no emails or calls back. I think I have covered all the organizations and businesses that could truly help. I also reached out to martial arts organizations and only had one that responded which asked me when and where. I was elated when they responded back to me, that was a good feeling. I reached someone who heard me and responded and I can say that all organizations or agencies are professional.

I reached out to the Police Special victims unit and they were eager share to share my flyer as a resource for individuals. I am the little engine that could, now I guess I should start reaching out to the state of New York for assistance if I can't get help here. Writing letters for support and getting them out this week hopefully will hear back.
